Execution model

Understand how orders, spreads and slippage affect your trades on MetaTrader 5.

From order to execution

A market order requests execution at an available price, not a guaranteed price. The fill can differ from the quote you saw when markets move, liquidity changes or your connection is delayed.

Evaluate execution on MT5

Use the History tab to review the actual entry price, exit price and commission. Compare these with your trading plan. A demo account is useful for learning order entry, but demo fills do not prove how a live account will execute.

Scalping and automated strategies

Short-duration strategies are particularly sensitive to spread, commission and slippage. Test at your intended trading hours and confirm the current execution policy and strategy permissions with Mercato before trading live.

Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
